Introduction to Inkle Weaving
Instructor: Derek Reynolds
January 17th, 10am to 2pm

Looking for a creative new fiber adventure to start the new year? Join us in January for a cozy day of Inkle Weaving! This fun and portable form of weaving is perfect for making straps, belts, bag handles, bookmarks, and more — all while exploring beautiful color patterns and textures.

In this 4-hour workshop, you’ll learn everything you need to get started, from warping your loom to weaving your first bands. We’ll take our time — no pre-warped looms here! Warping is part of the fun (and much easier than it looks). Once your loom is dressed, we’ll dive into a few simple patterns and talk about how to read charts, play with color, and finish your projects neatly.

You’ll Learn:
🧶 How to warp your inkle loom step-by-step
🧶 Basic weaving techniques and tension tips
🧶 How to create simple patterns and stripes
🧶 Ideas for future projects and next steps

Skill Level: No weaving experience needed — just curiosity and a love of yarn!

What to Bring: We have classroom looms available to use. Let us know if you will be bringing your own. Feel free to bring your own weaving supplies, and we will have plenty available in class kits for purchase (we’ll help you choose from our shop’s beautiful selection).

Come spend a winter afternoon with us, surrounded by yarn, good company, and the rhythmic click of weaving — it’s the perfect cozy start to the year!
