Crochet Join As You Go Granny Squares ~ August 8th 10am to 1pm
Join as you go (Jaygo) crochet using Granny Squares (3 hours)
August 8th from 10am to 1pm
Instructor: Derek Reynolds
In this session we will learn to read patterns for granny squares (and hexagons, etc!) and make a simple one color granny square, a multi-colored granny square, a flower granny square, a one color hexagon, and learn the join-as-you-go technique you can use to make blankets without seaming a bunch of squares together after making them!
You can also make granny squares as BIG as you want, even repeating the pattern to make one giant granny blanket with one square!
Skills you should already have: You need to have a basic understanding of crochet and the following stitches – chain, Slip Stitch, SC, HDC, DC, Treble Crochet.
Materials: For this class you will need to bring crochet hooks and yarn - worsted weight works for each of the techniques; other weights are fine as well.
