Advanced Beginner Crochet Class: Granny Square Bucket Hat

Join us to learn how to make granny square bucket hats! Participants will learn how to make the squares, sew them together to make the body of the hat, and crochet increases for the brim. 

Participants should be comfortable with crochet basics, including slip knots, chaining, double crochet, and single crochet. This is a very beginner friendly project! 

The first day is focused on making the granny squares, and day two focuses on connecting + adding the brim.

Skills you should already have:  You need to know how to chain, single crochet, and double crochet.  

Suggested Supplies (you can bring your own or purchase in the shop)

  • Either #2, fine or #3 light worsted weight cotton (medium weight, light-colored yarn makes stitches easier to see)

    • Bring at least two different colors of yarn for their hat, and a minimum of 100g each color. 

  • Crochet hook size E/4 (3.5mm) or F/5 (3.75mm) for #2 yarn or G/6 (4mm), 7 (4.5mm) or H/8 (5mm) for #3 light worsted weight 

  • Small pair of scissors or yarn snips

  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
