In this class we will explore various knit cables and careate a beautiful softly cabled headband. This particular design snugs up over your ears to keep you warm, yet does not pull so tight on your head to be uncomfortable. You will love it at least three out of four seasons!
What you will learn:
  • Right and left crossing cables (front and back crossing cables)
  • Several widths of cables
  • Simple knit increase and decrease
  • Lifelines
  • A crochet cast on
  • Reading charts (the pattern is also writtin out if you prefer to stay away from the chart 
Prerequisites:
You must already know the knit and purl stitches

What to Bring:
Bulky (or Aran) weight yarn - 70 - 90 yards (64 - 82 m)

Knitting needles - US 8 - 5.0 mm & US 10 - 6.0 mm  (If you choose to do a gauge swatch, gauge is 17 stitches and 21 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch (alternating knit a row, purl a row), unblocked on larger size knitting needles; smaller needles are 2 sizes smaller than the needles you got gauge on)
  • Crochet hook, will only be used during the cast on
  • Cable needle
  • Copy of the pattern 
  • Removable stitch markers (to mark cable rows)

Stitch saver cord for the cast on will be provided.
