Beginning Tunisian Crochet is back! We are excited to offer this 2-hour, hands-on, guided introduction to the unique craft of Tunisian crochet - a technique that blends elements of crochet and knitting to beautifully textured fabric.
This fun crochet technique dates back to at least the early 1800s and has undergone a large rise in popularity in recent years.
What you will learn
- Foundation row: Starting your first piece
- Forward pass and return pass: The two-part process unique to Tunisian crochet
- Introduction to different stitches
- Tips on tension, posture, and how to avoid curling
Small Practice Project: In class we will make a simple swatch or that could become a beginner project (like a coaster, dishcloth, or headband)
Class Supply List
- Tunisian crochet hook (6.0 or 6.5 mm) Shop hooks are available for use during class.
- Shop yarn is available for practice use during class. You can bring or purchase DK weight yarn as well.
- You are welcome to bring supplies purchased at another shop.
Skill Level: Confident Beginner -- You should know the chain stitch; if you do not, please come by the shop before the class for a quick chain stitch lesson.
